My blog

What did I do in 2010?

I drafted this a week or so ago, and as I'll probably not expand on it, I thought I'd post it online as it is.  Below are a few of my highlights for 2010:

  • Moved out of my flat
  • Bought a house with Emma
  • Husted, un-successfuly, to stand as the Liberal Democrat candidate in a local by-election
  • Published two books (PHP 5 Social Networking and PHP 5 E-Commerce Development)
  • Started working on my sixth book
  • Became PHP 5 Zend Certified
  • Presented at PHPNW10
  • Performed as the Prince in Juniper Productions performance of Cinderella
Some of my personal highlights from work:
  • Tendered for, pitched for, and subsequently won, our biggest project to date
  • Interviewed lots of people for our Web Developer job
  • Hired Ian Smith to our development team
  • Registered for VAT, a process which took HMRC five months to complete
  • Worked on a project for Central Government - including DirectGov, NHS Choices, and BusinessLink.gov.uk
